"How does one know if she has forgiven? You tend to feel sorrow over the circumstance instead of rage, you tend to feel sorry for the person rather than angry with him. You tend to have nothing left to say about it all."
Clarissa Pinkola Estes
Are we done? Can we move on? Have we laughed enough at Steve Harvey's misstep? I hope so.
I get it, when it's your family (especially a member who is known for cracking jokes on others) there's a sense of "Okay, you got me. That was a good one." When the tables are turned on them, however, that's reserved for family. God forbid some outsider try to come in and stick it to our family more than we do. Right, wrong, or indifferent-that's how it works. Family has jokes, only for a minute, but we have blood's back if attacked by outsiders.
After viewing a major defeat on Family Feud, the Sass family reminded me just how powerful the family unit can be. During the final "Fast Money" round, Anna (the second contestant) only needed to secure 18 points to bring her family over the finish line to the $20,000 grand prize. She earned zero. They lost the game.
They won at life though. When Anna (who owned her mistake) needed the Sass family the most, they came running to her side. It was us outsiders/viewers who screamed at the television. The love and forgiveness from her family came first.
Well Steve Harvey is family. He's been in our cars, in our living rooms, he's cared for our sons, given us relationship advice as he sees it, and we've even visited him on tour. We've seen Harvey's reunion with blood relatives and cried when he shed tears of joy. He's our family, and we should run to him like family. Outsiders have reared their ugly heads in condemnation, let's cover Steve Harvey with the kind of love that only family can (should) give.

Oh, and another thing...it's compassion first, then comedy. When someone you care about falls, you check to see if they're okay first. Once we know all is well, the flood gates can open to the most creative memes you can think of. Steve Harvey has poked fun at Family Feud contestants, but for the Sass family and plenty others he has said, "I bled for you on that loss." Well, I bleed for you too Mr. Harvey.
